Joe Shearer (Disabled USMC Combat Veteran, San Antonio TX)

This past year I was afforded the opportunity to participate in several free yoga classes for veterans being taught by fellow Marine, Sarah Plummer. I was (and still am) very much new to yoga, but Sarah's teaching style made it easy to get over the initial fears of trying something new and really explore the [...]

Beth Hernandez (US Army Veteran, Columbus OH)

Sarah was a help and an inspiration to me when she was here in Columbus.  The "Roga" (running + yoga) she taught was not only immensely fun but also very helpful.  It was so nice that it was free for me being a vet but I would have happily paid for the experience. Sarah provided [...]

Semper Sarah Is Havin’ a BABY!

In keeping with the Halloween month-scary theme, I thought I'd go ahead and make a big (scary) announcement: I’m having a baby! Just kidding….sort of.  ;) Whether you’re a parent or not (I am not), I’m sure you’ve either thought this or heard someone say this before: “You’ll never really be ready to have children.”  [...]

You Know What’s REALLY Scary?

With October here, I got to thinking about what is really scary in life.  Wanna know what I came up with?  Living uninspired.  Living a complacent, mediocre, uninspired life terrifies me; feeling “stuck” is tortuous; and being afraid to go out on limb when it’s the limb of life that beckons you, sounds soul-crushing.In the [...]

What Deepak Chopra Thinks About the “S” in SEMPER and Why You Should Care

1. Obama, Secret Service, and Travel, Oh My!

What does this post have to do with Mr. Obama?  Not too much except that I just returned from Las Vegas, NV where I was sharing a hotel with the Pres, First Family, and their Secret Service entourage.  I have a pretty funny story, actually, about the Secret Service, but I might save that for [...]

Studies Show that Choosing New Pathways Benefits Mind, Body, and Spirit – PTSD, TBI, and MST Peeps Listen Up!

“Let life be your path and your walking be your healing.” Sarah Plummer I went for a run lastight.  I’d been working all day - writing, making phone calls, emailing, strategizing (strategery!) and whatnot - feeling a bit tense.  I needed some fresh air.  So out the door I went.  I followed the crushed gravel, [...]

Meat & Milk Monday – What’s gonna get you rolling this week?

I have a question for you - would you like to know what are the most complete, balanced, and superfood quality proteins out there? Ok, actually, I have two more questions. Do you feel like getting a more-bang-for-your-buck financially and nutritionally-speaking protein would be good for you and your family? Do you want to be [...]

Freakishly Healthy “Chocolate” Strawberry Smoothie

I seriously just made this up on the fly, and it is DANG good!  Don't act like you're not impressed ;) First, a little info: Modern scientific studies show that combining chocolate and berries can double or even triple the amount of antioxidants that get into your blood!  This is kind of important because antioxidants [...]
